The Judicial Council calls on the Working Group on the Efficiency of the Judiciary to continue its work on the implementation of the action plan developed by the Working Group, including the fulfilment of the tasks indicate therein.

The objective of the Working Group established by the Judicial Council was to develop an action plan for the implementation of the tasks of the Judicial Council’s Operational Strategy for 2021–2025 in the line of action of “Efficient and high-quality judiciary” and to recommend priorities for the implementation of the plan. On 22 October, the Working Group presented to the Judicial Council its action plan, which sets out four priority areas for action.

The Working Group will continue its work by organizing the implementation of the action plan, i.e., by defining the tasks to be performed, recommending the responsible institutions and deadlines for implementation, as well as supervising the implementation thereof. The Working Group will inform the Judicial Council of the problems and the actions and decisions that need to be addressed.

Taking into account that the term of office of the judge of the Riga City Vidzeme District Court Zigmunds Dundurs in the Judicial Council has expired, the Judicial Council delegated Ilze Celmiņa, a judge of the Riga Regional Court, to work in the Working Group.
