Council for the Judiciary heard and gave positive assessment to the report of the Court Administration on performance results 2016.
Court Administration’s priorities for the year 2017 shall be ensuring territorial reform of courts and the reform of court interpreters, as well as management of the European social project "Justice for Development", and promotion of E-case Project.
Last year the Court Administration became a member of two international organizations – the Academy of European Law and European Land Registry Association. International cooperation will be a priority for the Court Administration also in the current year.
Major construction works and restructuring of premises planned by the Court Administration in 2017 include provision of Tukums District Court with additional premises, placement of Ventspils Court in one address, relocation of Jekabpils District Court and Land Registry Office to the new premises and centralization of judicial authorities in Madona.
With regard to challenges in work of the Court Administration, Director Edvins Balsevics mentioned innovations planned by the Court Administration – use of large-volume data and robotization of automated processes.
The Council for the Judiciary adopted the decision in the sitting of 12 June, 2017.
