23 January, 2014

On Monday, January 27, the Board of Justice will provide opinion about Gunars Kusins, the candidate to the office of the judge of the Constitutional Court. The candidate to the office of the judge of the Constitutional Court was nominated by 12 deputies of the Saeima (the Parliament).

Agenda of the sitting of the Board of Justice also includes other issues related to judicial career.

The Board of Justice will also discuss question about fixing of course of a court hearing in audio record and problems of use of technical means. This issue became topical this year, when amendments to the Civil Procedure Law, which envisages fixing of course of a court hearing in audio record, became effective as from January 1, but those do not establish, if and what kind of minutes of a court hearing should be written.

Agenda of the sitting also includes other questions advanced by the Ministry of Justice – on foundation of joint institution of forensic expertises, on amendments planned for transition to “clear court instances” in adjudication of civil cases and on increasing of responsibility of parties to the case for indecent use of rights in civil procedure.

Sitting of the Board of Justice of January 27 will take place in Room 461 of the Supreme Court. The beginning is at 13.00 o’clock.
