To equalize case-load of the Administrative regional court and the Administrative district court, the Council for the Judiciary agreed to transfer vacant position of a judge formed in Rezekne court house of the Administrative district court to the Administrative regional court as from 1 March.
Thus, the Council for the Judiciary will express a proposal to the Saeima (Parliament) on determination of total number of judges in district (city) courts and regional courts, envisaging that there are 403 judges in district (city) courts, inter alia, 43 judges in the Administrative district court, and 137 judges in regional courts, inter alia, 22 judges in the Administrative regional court.
