Due to the change of the Chair of the Council of Sworn Advocates there are changes also in the composition of the Council for the Judiciary. Representative from among advocates in the Council will be sworn advocate Janis Rozenbergs, who was elected as Chair of the Council of Sworn Advocates at the general meeting of April 7.

In accordance with the Article 891 of the Law "On Judicial Power" the Council for the Judiciary shall be composed of 15 members - eight permanent members (officials) and seven elected members. One of the permanent positions in the Council for the Judiciary is the position of a Chair of Latvian Council of Sworn Advocates.

Janis Rozenbergs is the third representative at the Council for the Judiciary from the Council of Sworn Advocates, since its establishment in 2010. Previously, this duty was performed by Chair of the Council of Sworn Advocates Janis Grinbergs and Acting Chair Guna Kaminska.
