The Judicial Council has appointed Miķelis Zumbergs, a judge of the Economic Court and the current acting chairperson of the Court, as the chairperson of the Economic Court. The chairperson is appointed for the term of five years.
Miķelis Zumbergs has been a judge since the establishment of the Economic Court. Miķelis Zumbergs has been working in the court system for 16 years, and in this respect, he has the most extensive experience among the judges of the Economic Court. For eight years he had been an assistant to the chairperson of the Administrative District Court, performing various duties related to the organization of the work of the first instance court.
