Council for the Judiciary assigned the judges of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court, Ineta Ozola, Mara Katlapa, Dace Jansone and Arnis Dundurs to fulfill the duties of a judge in Riga Regional Court, starting from 1 January 2017.
According to Section 742 of transitional provisions of the Law "On Judicial Power", the Council for the Judiciary under the proposal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court and the Minister of Justice assigns the judge of Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court, who after the expiry date of the said Chamber is not reassigned to the position of judge in the Department of the Supreme Court, to serve as a judge in another appellate court.
Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court terminates its work on 31 December this year.
The Council for the Judiciary reviewed an issue in the sitting of 28 November.
