By implementing the judicial reform, on 15 January 2018 Riga City Northern District Court is merged to Riga City Vidzeme District Court, and henceforth the area of activity of Riga City Vidzeme District Court will cover three administrative districts of Riga – Vidzeme District, Central District and Northern District.
The Council of the Judiciary made decision on the transfer of judges of Riga City Northern District Court to Riga City Vidzeme District Court by 15 January 2018.
Judges Ilze Apse, Linda Dizenberga, Viesturs Gaidukevics, Dace Kantsone, Karina Kazarova, Iveta Meldere, Anna Mihailova, Baiba Ozolina, Viktors Prudnikovs, Sanita Strakse, Dina Suipe and Andris Vasilevskis have been transferred.
The operation of Riga City Vidzeme District Court will be carried out at the premises of the present Riga City Northern District Court and Riga City Vidzeme District Court.
The Council for the Judiciary adopted the decision in the sitting of 15 January 2018 in a written procedure.
