The Council for the Judiciary determined courts, where judges appointed to the office of a judge of a district (city) court by the decision of the Saeima (Parliament) of 23 April will discharge judicial duties: Inguna Gaile – in Riga district court, Anita Gravite – in Riga city Zemgale suburb court, and Zita Studente – in Riga city Vidzeme suburb court.
The Council for the Judiciary supported transfer of Diana Makarova, the judge of the Administrative district court, to the office of a judge of a regional court, and determined that the judge will work in the Administrative regional court after the decision of the Saeima.
The Council for the Judiciary supported proposal on transfer of the judge Biruta Horuna in the office of the judge from Jurmala city court to Riga city Vidzeme suburb court. The judge had applied in competition to the vacancy of the judge in this court.
The Council for the Judiciary also supported request of the Supreme Court to instruct Gunta Freimane, the judge of Riga regional court, to discharge duties of a judge of the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court for the term of a vacancy of a judge. The vacancy of the judge appeared in the Chamber of Civil Cases due to transfer of judges of the Chamber to the Department of Civil Cases.
