Two judges are appointed to Riga District Court – the Council for the Judiciary established that by the decision of the Saeima of 21 December the judge of a district (city) court Kristine Evertovska will serve in Riga District Court, while Baiba Jakobsone will be transferred to Riga District Court from Riga City Latgale District Court by February 12th.
The Council for the Judiciary supports the transfer of the judge of Riga City Pardaugava Court Olita Blumfelde to the regional court and, upon approval by the Saeima, appoints her to Riga Regional Court.
The Council for the Judiciary adopted the decision in the sitting of 15 January 2018 in a written procedure.
