26 May, 2021

At its meeting on 21 May, the Judicial Council approved guidelines for the organization of judicial training in 2022, which set out the principles and directions for the development of judicial training programs.

The guidelines identify five main target groups for training: judges, new judges, court staff, managers and lecturers.

The main directions and the content of training have been determined. The content will be adapted to each target group, primarily taking into account the needs of the judicial system. The greatest emphasis will be placed on the development of professional skills.

When developing the training content, information from the institutions of self-government of judges, the Ministry of Justice and the Court Administration, and from surveys of judges should be taken into account. Training providers need to work with the Judicial Council in the content development process. The Judicial Council will also approve the training programs.

Four priority training topics have been identified for 2022. These are methodology of examination of cases, conduct of proceedings, drawing up of rulings, financial and economic crimes.
