Senator Dzintra Balta has been re-elected the Deputy Chair of the Judicial Council.
Previously, Dzintra Balta was elected to the Judicial Council from among the judges of the regional courts, and she was also the Deputy Chair of the Judicial Council. After being transferred to the position of Senator of the Supreme Court, the Plenary Session of the Supreme Court elected Dzintra Balta as a member of the Judicial Council from among the judges of the Supreme Court. The Judicial Council decided that Dzintra Balta would continue to perform the duties of the Deputy Chair of the Council.
The decision was adopted by the Judicial Council at its meeting on September 28, 2020.
