The Council for the Judiciary agreed with the proposal of the Minister of Justice for re-appointment of Judge Silva Reinholde to the position of Chair of Kurzeme Regional Court and re-appointment of Judge Visvaldis Sprudzans to the position of Deputy-chair of Zemgale Regional Court and Chair of Collegium of Criminal Cases. According to the law "On Judicial Power", the term of office shall be five years.
The Council for the Judiciary approves the appointment of Judge Evita Sietniece to the position of Chair of Land Registry office of Aizkraukle District Court and appointment of Judge Anda Niedola to the position of Chair of Land Registry Office of Ventspils Court. Also to these positions judges are appointed for five years.
The Council for the Judiciary also indicated courts in which judicial duties will be discharged by new judges who with the decisions of the Saeima are appointed to the position of district (city) judges on 20 April. Janis Bumbieris will work in Liepaja Court, Sallija Vikentjeva – Aizkraukle District Court.
The Council for the Judiciary adopted decisions in written procedure on 11 May.
