Due to change of the Chair of the Council of Sworn Notaries, composition of the Council for the Judiciary has changed as well. Representative of the Council of Sworn Notaries will be the notary Sandra Stipniece, who was elected to the office of the Chair of the Latvian Council of Sworn Notaries at the general meeting of the Latvian Panel of Sworn Notaries on 31 October.

In accordance with the Section 891 of the law “On Judicial Power” consists of 15 members – eight permanent members (officials) and seven elected members. One office from among those of permanent members of the Council for the Judiciary is held by the Chair of the Latvian Council of Sworn Notaries.  

Since foundation of the Council for the Judiciary in 2010, this is the third representative of the Council of Sworn Notaries in the Council for the Judiciary, previously these duties were discharged by Chairs of the Council of Sworn Notaries  Ilze Pilsetniece and Sandra Jakusenoka.
