Having listened to assessment of course of regional reform of courts, provided by the Association of Latvian Judges, and to opinions provided at the sitting of the Council for the Judiciary, the Council considers it necessary to pay particular attention to this issue at the next sitting of the Council for the Judiciary, to analyse process, problems and benefits of the reform.
The Council for the Judiciary urged the Ministry of Justice to observe opinions expressed by the Association of Judges, and to invite the Association to participate in the meeting of Chairs of courts, organised by the ministry, where information on further plans of court reform will be provided. The Council for the Judiciary asked the ministry to prepare information for the next sitting of the council for the Judiciary, which will b held after the meeting of Chairs of courts.
The decision was adopted by the Council for the Judiciary at the sitting of 23 May.
