In the sitting of the Board of Justice, which will take place on Monday, April 28, number of judges in departments and the Chamber of Civil Cases of the Supreme Court after January 1, 2015, when the Chamber of Criminal Cases will be liquidated, shall be determined. Issue regarding changes of number of judges in the Administrative district court and the Administrative regional court shall also be examined.  

The Board of Justice will discuss information report prepared by the Ministry of Justice regarding changes of catchment area of courts, providing to unite district (city) courts located within catchment area of a regional court, establishing one court of the first instance and transforming former courts into court houses.     

The Board of Justice will also hear information of the Ministry of Justice regarding fundamental guidelines on strengthening of human resources capacity and development of competencies of employees of judiciary and law enforcement institutions and on methods of organisation of training of judges.  

The agenda of the sitting of the Board of Justice also includes issues regarding judicial careers – on appointment of Chairs of Jurmala court and Ogre district court, on transfer of judges of district (city) courts to regional court and determination of a court for execution of judicial duties, and other issues.

The sitting of the Board of Justice will take place on Monday, April 28, in Room 461 of the Supreme Court, beginning is at 13.00 o’clock.
