The Board of Justice supported appointment of Dace Bluma, the judge of Cesis district court, to the office of the Chair of Cesis district court for five years and appointment of Anita Stikane, the judge of Preili district court, to the office of the Chair of Preili district court for five years.  

Both candidates have experience of judge’s work and of court management. Anita Stikane has been the Chair of Preili district court since 2004, and Dace Bluma has been the Chair of Cesis district court since 2009.

Both candidates were the only pretenders in announced competitions to offices of Chairs of courts.

Laura Konosonoka shall execute duties of a judge of the Administrative regional court

The Board of Justice instructed Laura Konosonoka, the judge of the Administrative district court, to execute duties of a judge of the Administrative regional court during temporary absence of a judge.

Vacancy of a judge appeared in the Administrative regional court due to the fact that Kaspars Berkis, the judge of the Administrative regional court participates in long-term training programme in the European Court of Human Rights, which has been ensured within framework of judicial exchange programmeof the European Judicial Training Network.  

The Board of Justice adopted decisions in written procedure on May 14.
